Meet Your Instructor

Lynn "Elikqitie" Smargis is a six-time published author, ghostwriter, and founder of Write For You Self Publishing. She has spent her career filling in the gap for professionals, thought leaders, and executives who are ready to share their expertise with the world with a book, but don't know where to start…or they have been burned by bad advice that's cost them time and money.

With the ability to write up to 10,000 words a day, Lynn has mastered the art of capturing each client's authentic voice and transforming their expertise into a published nonfiction book. Her approach is warm, direct, and focused on each author's vision, empowering them to successfully self-publish on their own terms with full creative control.

As the host of the Self Publishing for Professionals podcast, Lynn delivers actionable publishing wisdom to professionals across multiple platforms, making the self-publishing world accessible and navigable. Lynn is the go-to self-publishing professional for thought leaders who are done waiting and ready to become the published author they deserve to be.

When she's not transforming professionals into published authors, you'll find her on her Portland, Oregon farm with her cat, Hemingway, who, unsurprisingly, has excellent literary taste.

Course FAQs

  • Make sure to check your specific course for the course start date and times the live sessions are available.

  •  All sessions are recorded and added to a private video vault available exclusively to course participants. While we encourage you to attend live for the full coaching and community experience, we understand life happens. Please note that missed sessions cannot be made up with one-on-one time — the recordings are your resource if you need to catch up.

  • Participation is not required, but it is strongly encouraged. The more actively you show up by sharing your work, asking questions, and engaging with the group, the more you will learn.

This is a live coaching experience, and the students who participate fully consistently get the most out of each course. You are always welcome to watch the recording, but you’ll get the most value by attending each live session in the room.

  • All sessions are group coaching sessions. If you would like personalized one-on-one coaching with Lynn, that is available as an add-on at an additional cost. Contact Lynn directly through the contact form to discuss options.

  • The course is non-refundable. That said, if you show up, do the work, and complete your homework between sessions, you will leave with a complete book outline. Students who engage fully get results. Students who don't do the homework don't — and that is not grounds for a refund.

  • Each session builds directly on what you completed between classes—aka, your homework. If you skip the homework, you skip the progress, and a refund will not be issued on the basis of incomplete participation.

  • No. The course dates are fixed and will not be adjusted for individual schedules. Please review all session dates before enrolling to make sure you can commit to the schedule.

  •  No. Writing courses are focused entirely on helping you build your book outline and writing roadmap. Ghostwriting and editing services are not included.

If you are interested in writing or publishing services, Lynn offers them separately through Write For You Self Publishing — reach out directly to discuss.

  • Your enrollment includes live group coaching sessions, access to the private video vault of recordings, and a playbook which serves as your workbook for every session.

  • Courses being offered at $97 are the beta round course — the first time we are running it live.

Beta participants get the full experience at a deeply discounted rate in exchange for being part of this first cohort.

When the course runs again, the price will increase to $197. This is the only time it will be available at this price.

  •  No. There is no minimum enrollment requirement. The moment you enroll, the course is happening. We do not wait for a certain number of participants before the start date is confirmed — your spot is secured and the course runs as scheduled.

  • Yes. Each course is capped at 25 students. This is intentional — keeping the group small means more personalized coaching, more airtime for your work, and a better experience for everyone in the room. Once 25 spots are filled, enrollment closes. If you are interested, sign up today!
