Reset and Review Your Company’s Goals

With personal and business life on a new path, how can you take control of where your business is heading right now? Although there are many elements of our environment outside of our control, one item you can focus on to grow your business is a good business plan centered around your goals.

When creating your business plan, have a goal in mind. Without a goal, you won’t have an end result to focus on or picture yourself doing. Make sure your goal is time sensitive. Use these four simple steps to create a goal that works for your company culture and business success!

It’s easy to lose track of your goals once the year gets going. Here’s a few tips on how to stay motivated!

Four Simple Steps to Setting Your Goals

  1. Start with successes - Revisit your highlight reel and frame your mindset so that you can achieve what you want. Write down ten attainable achievements you can look back at in the past year. Come from a place of having fire already there. What are the top successes you have had in your practice this year? Grow these experiences more and more to find out what you can achieve. Keep a Success Journal and look back in your journal to show you your successes and soak in the afterglow of your best moments.

  2. Know what motivates you - Not just the money! Look for intrinsic value, such as what can the money get for you? Maybe the money will bring you wonderful vacation experiences with your family. The experiences are what we remember, and having money to create those experiences is the utmost important motivator - not the money itself. Marilee ties her goals into her family. Be dialed into your goals so that you have enough momentum to move past obstacles that can get in your way.

  3. Break it down - Make your goals for the year, then break them down into quarterly, monthly, and weekly pieces to set yourself up for success. Find out the types of metrics you need to look at to achieve your goal and put your practice on the road to success. Take out monetary goals and focus on process goals, which will lead to your team's success and accomplishing your monetary goals.

  4. Share the excitement - Get the people around you motivated. Recognize team members who go above and beyond, put a goal in place which your team can lose instead of showing them what they can gain.
