Do You Need a Ghostwriter?

You may have heard a friend or associate talk about hiring a ghostwriter for their book, blog, or social media or you may have recently read an article about ghostwriting service. But What is ghostwriting and how do you know when you need a ghostwriter?

What is Ghostwriting?

Ghostwriting is a writer for hire who writes for your business, personality, or profile. A ghostwriter takes your ideas and content and creates a quality, well-polished piece of content that is under your ownership. A ghostwriter can write various articles, blogs, or newsletters but the most common form of ghostwriting that most people have heard or know about is ghostwriting a book.

Using a Ghostwriter for Your Book

You can use a ghostwriter for any type of content. In fact, if you’ve ever hired anyone to write content for you and didn’t have their name as an author, then you’ve hired a ghostwriter!

Ghostwriters can write all or part of your book. You can hire a ghostwriter at any point in your book process - you don’t need to hire a ghostwriter at the start of your book. You can hire a ghostwriter in the beginning, in the middle of writing your book, or towards the end of your book if you get stuck and can’t figure out what to write for your last few chapters.

When to Hire a Ghostwriter

Many of my clients hire my ghostwriting services because they have half of their book written, but aren’t able to finish their book for a variety of reasons. For example, they may not have enough time to write their book or they aren’t able to put the rest of their thoughts into words. They may also be running up against a publishing deadline they can’t meet unless they have another writer on board to assist them in finishing their content.

While there is no best reason to hire a ghostwriter, there are many great reasons to hire a ghostwriter! Besides the points mentioned above, you can also hire a ghostwriter if you need someone to edit your book. For example, you may need help with organizational editing or you’re finding it hard to get a handle on the copy or flow of your content. Whatever the reason, hiring a ghostwriter is a great way to fast-track your book content.

You don’t have to have content to hire a ghostwriter - a great ghostwriter can work with you to ideate content and come up with new, fresh ideas for your book, blog, or an article for your website.
